Externships

At Front Range Equine Performance we are happy to provide externship opportunities to undergraduate and veterinary students.  During your visit, you will have the opportunity to ride with either Dr. Marianne Marshall-Gibson or Dr. Denise Branecky on their daily farm calls.  You can expect to observe chiropractic exams, acupuncture exams, lameness work-ups and performance horse treatments.  For our undergraduate students, we will focus on horse-handling techniques and palpation examinations.  For our enrolled veterinary students, we will attempt to incorporate additional hands-on learning (lameness evaluations, venipuncture, limb exams, diagnostic imaging techniques, etc.) as available.

We are an ambulatory practice and you can expect to be out on the road with your doctor for the entirety of the day.  We recommend bringing lunch/snacks and dressing appropriately for working in a barn and the elements, as we are often performing exams outdoors.

To apply for our externship program please send your resume and a brief cover letter to Dr. Branecky at [email protected].  Please include your name, contact information, year in school and available dates for a visit.  We fill our externship slots on a first-come first-served basis.  We do not provide housing at this time.

You can plan to meet at the address below at the start of your externship.
