Dr. Denise Branecky
DVM, CVA, IVCA

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Denise Branecky grew up in Newtown, Connecticut where she was introduced to horses and riding at a young age through her mom’s love of horses. In high school, her love of science and horses inspired her to pursue shadowing a local equine veterinary practice where she fell in love with equine ambulatory medicine.

After high school, Dr. Branecky headed south and attended Clemson University for her undergraduate career, where she competed on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team during all four years. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences.

After her time in the south, Dr. Branecky re-entered the cold of the northeast to attend veterinary school at Cornell University. While in school she became president of the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners as well as working as a technician in the large animal hospital.

Following graduation, Dr. Branecky completed an equine rotating internship at Rhinebeck Equine in New York where she gained experience in surgery, medicine and general ambulatory practice.

In 2017, Dr. Branecky joined Fairfield Equine Associates, an equine sports medicine practice in Connecticut, where she had spent time both shadowing and working as a veterinary technician prior to veterinary school. As an associate, she furthered her lameness skills and became certified in veterinary acupuncture at Chi University in 2021. Her professional interests include sports medicine, acupuncture, and chiropractic.

Dr. Branecky moved to Colorado to join the Front Range Equine Performance team in 2022 to further her career in sports medicine, rehabilitation and alternative therapies. She is currently a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, International Society of Locomotor Pathology and an FEI treating veterinarian.

Dr. Branecky is excited to pursue all that Colorado has to offer, especially skiing and hiking and has two support cats, Timmy and Kaia.
