Front Range Equine Performance (FREP)!
About Us
FREP is a growing Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Practice based in the Northern
Colorado Front Range with monthly trips to Steamboat Springs and Laramie, WY. We are
seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and grow with us as we expand
into our clinic and rehabilitation center in Berthoud, CO. We have amazing patients and clients
of all disciplines, from high end english and western performance horses to the companion mini

state-of-the-art sports medicine to empower patients to realize their peak performance and
remain comfortable while doing so.
We are a group of people that genuinely enjoy each others’ company and are extremely
protective of the unique, supportive culture we have developed. We believe this environment
allows us to better communicate with each other and our clients to create a truly unique work
culture that is often hard to find in equine medicine.
About the Role
Our Veterinary Technician/Assistant plays a key role in our practice, and is irreplaceable in
allowing our days to run smoothly.
A typical day in the trucks involves stocking the veterinary trucks that were out at appointments,
driving to appointments at client facilities, helping to carry & setup equipment (some of which is
>50 lbs.), facilitating lameness exams and procedures, jogging horses, and horse restraint.
Assisting with administrative duties including some client communications, internal
communications between employees, invoicing, and note taking. A typical day in the
rehabilitation barn involves performing TPR’s, administering medications, feeding hay/grain,
cleaning stalls, performing dynamic mobility exercises, treatments, and handwalking and
assisting in the training of patients to use vitafloor, solarium, water treadmill. In the trucks and
the rehabilitation facility, the candidate will need to have a positive attitude and be able to
communicate effectively to help manage the wrenches that occasionally derail our daily plans.
This role requires the individual to be physically able to jog horses, work in all weather
conditions and be able to multitask.
This role also requires participation in a rotating schedule between truck technicians to spend
one week (4 days) every 8-12 weeks seeing patients in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Our practice range is 1 hour from the clinic, with one day a month traveling to Laramie WY and
4 days a month in Steamboat Springs, CO.
The Successful Candidate
Our future team member will be a positive, personable, reliable professional who wants to
expand their skills as a member of this supportive team. In addition to being a “horse person,”
comfortable around all types of horses and possessing exceptional horse handling skills, they
must also be able to relate to clients and exercise discretion. We seek a team member who
takes pride in themself, their work and has initiative to go above and beyond required duties to
exceed customer expectations and to be a partner in growing the business. We desire someone
who has a drive to learn and develop themselves professionally with a long-term career goal set
in equine veterinary medicine. Therefore experience working in the equine veterinary industry or
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) will be highly considered, but is not required, as we
believe in helping to develop our team members, whether through continuing education or
providing employer subsidized training (technician school, etc.). Additional requirements include
an excellent driving record and ability to drive our vet truck, a background check and a working
interview.
