About Us:
Front Range Equine Performance is a premier equine rehabilitation facility dedicated to
providing exceptional care under the direction of a veterinarian board-certified in equine sports
medicine and rehabilitation. We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Farm Hand
to join our team and support the daily operations of our rehabilitation center in Berthoud,
Colorado.
Position Summary:
The Farm Hand plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for
our equine patients. This position involves direct horse care, facility maintenance, and support
with rehabilitation protocols, making it ideal for someone passionate about horses and equine
wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain stalls twice daily
- Feed and water horses according to individualized care schedules
- Sanitize stalls between patients
- Hand-walk horses up to 20 minutes at a time, as part of rehab programs
- Administer oral medications as directed
- Groom horses daily
- Maintain clean, safe barn conditions, including sweeping, dusting, and cobweb removal
- Clean water and manure buckets regularly
- Perform general property upkeep and assist with minor facility repairs
- Operate farm equipment, including tractors, safely and effectively
- Drag and maintain arena footing
- Spread manure and assist with waste managemen
- Load and unload hay bales, feed bags, and shavings
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a barn or equine facility
- Experience operating farm equipment such as tractors, manure spreaders, or utility vehicles
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Comfortable handling horses of various sizes, temperaments, and rehabilitation needs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow veterinary and staff instructions
- Communicate any horse related concerns to Rehab Manager
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Able to lift 40–50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Schedule & Compensation:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7 am - 3:30 pm with 30 minutes for lunch OR 7 am - 4:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch
- Pay: $20-$22/hour
