Dechra’s ProVet™ Autologous Protein Concentrate (APC) is a regenerative, biologic therapy that combines Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), IRAP, and leukocytes (white blood cells). This Leukocyte Rich Platelet Rich Plasma (LR-PRP) has a higher composition of growth factors and cytokines important for stimulating function and regeneration of cells. Therefore, there is potential for better stimulation of healing of soft tissue injuries and disease modification in joints (osteoarthritis) compared to older generation PRP systems.
Similar to IRAP and ProStride, ProVet™ uses blood drawn from your horse which is processed using the ProVet™ Centrifuge system. This process takes ONLY 3 minutes and provides more volume than other methods. With more volume, we can potentially treat more areas as needed.
Because this is an autologous (from the same horse) treatment, it is a safe option for treatment of horses with metabolic issues and Cushings (PPID).
