FREP is a growing Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Practice based in Northern
Colorado’s Front Range. We are seeking an experienced equine professional with the desire
and ability to help grow with our team and practice. We have patients and clients of all
disciplines, from high end english and western performance horses to the companion mini
donkey. We pride ourselves in offering all of our patients the best in customer and patient care
which includes chiropractic, state-of-the-art sports medicine, and equine rehabilitation.

Position Summary
The Practice Manager serves as the operational backbone and strategic partner to the Practice
Owner. You will lead all non-clinical aspects of the business—including human resources,
financial oversight, scheduling, facility operations, event coordination, and long-term
planning—ensuring the practice runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Management & Operations
- Oversee and continuously improve day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
- Organize, lead, and document monthly practice management meetings and staff meetings to ensure communication, alignment, and accountability across the team.
- Develop, implement, and refine policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Lead operational projects from concept to execution.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and well-maintained facility (buildings, equipment, technology).
- Troubleshoot operational issues before they become larger problems.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, employment law, veterinary standards).
Human Resources & Team Development
- Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and off-boarding processes.
- Maintain personnel records and ensure HR compliance.
- Facilitate staff training, continuing education, and performance reviews.
- Foster a positive, psychologically safe work culture defined by professionalism, communication, and respect.
- Support team dynamics and help resolve conflicts with fairness and compassion.
- Build team morale through recognition, engagement opportunities, and internal events.
Financial Oversight, Payroll & Accounts Receivable
- Manage and run payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee client billing, invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Monitor aging accounts and maintain healthy cash flow.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly business reviews.
- Analyze financial trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and present actionable insights.
- Partner with the Practice Owner and financial advisors to support long-term financial sustainability.
Staff Scheduling & Coverage Management
- Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage across clinical, administrative, and field operations.
- Manage PTO requests, on-call schedules, and emergency coverage rotations.
- Adjust staffing models based on seasonal demand, appointment volume, and special events.
Technology & Systems Leadership
- Master the practice’s tech stack (practice management software, scheduling tools, financial platforms).
- Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with IT/support vendors.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology adoption or workflow redesign.
- Research new tools, systems, or integrations to support growth and innovation.
Community Engagement & Event Coordination
- Plan and execute internal team events, appreciation days, and culture-building activities.
- Organize client-facing and community events, including educational workshops, open houses, equine health seminars, and sponsored equestrian events.
- Work with marketing/outreach resources to promote events and grow community connections.
- Represent the practice professionally at sponsored equine industry events.
Strategic Leadership
- Participate in annual planning and quarterly strategic review sessions.
- Assist in developing 1-year and 5-year operational goals.
- Facilitate structured, productive monthly management meetings to support transparency, planning, and progress review.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Practice Owner while executing long-term initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of management experience in a veterinary, medical, equine, or similar healthcare environment.
- Strong financial literacy and comfort with spreadsheets/data analysis.
- Solid understanding of HR best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with practice management software and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Comfort working in close proximity to and with horses and in active clinical environments.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Veterinary Technology, or related field.
- Equine industry experience or strong personal interest in horses and equestrian sports.
- Proven experience improving systems and implementing new technology.
- Event planning or community outreach experience.

Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with daily interaction in clinical and equine environments.
- Must be comfortable around horses and veterinary equipment.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability for events, emergencies (facility-related), or staffing needs.
