Your Role in Achieving Peak Performance

                      (1) Health,

                      (2) Conditioning (muscle strength and flexibility), and

                      (3) Training

comprise the foundation of Equine Performance.

While your role is to ensure that all of these are addressed, most owners overlook the horse's conditioning—perhaps because it is the least glamorous. Yet conditioning is the most critical to your equine partner's health and performance. Imagine a human athlete's muscle condition if she sat in her house every day, briefly "turning out" for a run around the block.

Likewise, your horse cannot deliver its peak performance, unless it is healthy, and you engage it THROUGHOUT THE YEAR in targeted exercises that increase muscle symmetry, strength and flexibility. The following poster summarizes the importance of conditioning and provides a guide that you, your trainer and your veterinarian can use to develop a conditioning program to help your equine partner achieve its peak performance.
