Cardiology & Cardiac concerns in the Equine Athlete

Meet the first speaker of the educational webinar series:

Dr. Matthew Durham, DVM, DACVSMR

​

Dr. Durham grew up around horses in Reno, Nevada, and has known that he wanted to be an equine veterinarian since he was twelve years old.

​

In 1996, he earned his doctorate in Veterinary medicine from UC Davis, in 2000 he completed the prestigious Cardiology and Ultrasound Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Virginia Reef, in 2001 he served as a locum Ultrasonographer at UC Davis, and in 2015 he became board certified in Equine Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.

As of 2001 Dr. Durham has worked at Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic and is very much into diagnostic imaging. Currently he enjoys finding a balance between working with horses in the field, as well as challenging more involved lameness cases in the clinic.
